~Saturday Morning Scene~

Well its a little late in the day, but we had company over so I had to wait a while to post.  This morning Rowen woke us up bright and early on the daycare schedule at 530.  Although we didn't get to sleep in it was gorgeous out so we took our morning coffee and the little guy outside to enjoy the fresh air!

Banisters...I have a soft spot in my heart for banisters and I can't wait til we live in a home again where we have one!

~Happy Father's Day

Today is father's day, and while I have two father's in my life now, this post celebrates my Dad.  No one knows how to push my buttons as well as my dad, but no one ever pushes me as hard as he does to do better and never just settle for ok.  He is a voice of reason whenever I need one but at the same time always good with a joke.  He has taught me to look at the glass half full, and never to 'assume' anything (these are just two small lessons that I have heard soooo many times).  Happy Father's Day Dad and happy First Grandfather's Day!!

Because its nice and cool, and Mr. Rowen gets to wear his overalls (probably for the last time for a while), I thought it would be nice to take some pictures outside...

~Saturday Morning Scene~

If you hadn't noticed, things look a little different around here thanks to the awesome job Katie did on her blog redesign!

Our morning has gone a little like this....

Our sweet little guy woke us up...I promise he usually wears clothes, but this morning he just wanted to hang out casual....

Fed him, changed him and got him dressed...

The shoes were quickly kicked off :)

We watched the sleepy face start to appear....

I skipped out and took these two on our daily walk...

(Post walk, they were a little tired)

And found these two fast asleep again!

Their cat nap has given me a little time to pick up things and catch up on my morning reading.  The weathermen are predicting a sixty percent chance of rain today so we are gonna head out to Ikea and the outlets for a little while, hopefully before the storms! I hope you all are having a great morning and a wonderful weekend!

~Two Months Old~

Dear Rowen,

Today you are two months old!! You must of known that today was a special day when you woke up because you have been smiling and laughing all morning!

This month you have been growing what seems like everyday! You are growing so fast that some times I have to go back and look at your first pictures, and I am amazed at how much bigger you are.  You weighed approximately 13 pounds this morning when you woke up, and that puts you in the 75th percentile for weight!  I definitely think you will double your birth weight long before your six month birthday.  Currently you are wearing a mixture of 0-3m clothing and 3-6m clothing, with more and more of the 0-3m being put away into storage.

This was the day you came home...

And this was yesterday...

Sleep.  I do believe you inherited my love of sleep and for that I am grateful.  Each night around eight o'clock we follow your routine of bath, swaddle, bottle, book, and then bed.  For the past week and a half you have been sleeping anywhere between 10-12 hrs, and it is magical to say the least.  I'm not gonna lie, I was not a fan of the many night time wake ups and I'm glad that so far you seem to have outgrown them.  Sometimes when  you don't seem to want to nap during the day I  have to remind myself that I would much rather you not nap and sleep all night then nap and be awake all night!  Our favorite (well my favorite) bedtime book has been "Its time to sleep, My love", it has really great pictures and I know one day you will enjoy the bright colors.   We also started reading "Are you my mother" but your big brother and sister decided that book looked like a good afternoon snack while we were gone the other day!  I hope the thought of J & L eating your books will one day inspire you to always put them away :).

Eating.  Recently you have started to eat anywhere between six and eight ounces per feeding and eat every four to five hours with the exception of night time.  You love to eat, and we love that you still "hoot" (it literally sounds like hoot) when you are hungry, just as you did the day you were born.  Yesterday you decided that I wasn't doing a good enough job with your bottle (which you have started to death grip) so you took matters into your own hands...literally....

This month your personality has really started to come out!  You love to talk (you get that from me :)) and sometimes when I put you in your swing I can hear you babbling on and on.  You are working on your smile and are starting to laugh, especially when Jack and Lola start licking you!  You love to open your mouth to them, which is something we might need to work on because it only makes them want to lick you more! Bubbles, when you get mad, with your wee irish temper, you blow bubbles, lots and lots of bubbles, and its hard not to laugh at you :).  You continue to roll from your belly to your back, and have developed a knack for squirming all the way down your crib, even in your swaddle.  I think your favorite part of the day, aside from eating, is bath time!  Your dad gives you your bath every night before bed and your face just lights up when he puts you down in the water, the whole time you just keep kicking your little legs.  I think you might have a future in swimming! And oh your hands ( I have to mention them), you still love your hands, and you are so so close to getting your thumb to stay in your mouth!

This month you have also had some firsts....

You had your first plane ride...(which you were so good on!)

First Trip to Disney...

First Memorial Day...

We have had an awesome second month with you little man and love watching you grow.  You are the light of our lives!

Saturday Morning Scene

Spent the morning lounging in bed with this little guy, the hubs, my pups, and a good cup of coffee!  Hopefully heading out for some patio furniture and plants for the yard!  Its a gorgeous day out!
